This custom one-day Audi driving program will give drivers the opportunity to test the horsepower in Audi's high performance vehicles, including the Audi R8, winner of The Robb Report's 2008 Car of the Year award. Strap on your brain bucket - that's a helmet—and learn braking, cornering and acceleration techniques, how to hit the apex of a turn and how to find the line of the track, then “race” a timed lap on
the Infineon road course.
You can't drive without the right gear, so each driver will be outfitted with a custom “V Race Team” shirt and receive a swag bag of goodies from Audi and Chappellet.
In the evening, downshift, take in the spectacular vistas, and relax with Cyril and Blakesley Chappellet at an al fresco dinner for 40 atop Pritchard Hill (each driver may bring one guest). This family-style Italian feast will be prepared by chef Jason Balestreri, executive chef at Yountville's new luxury hotel and restaurant, Hotel Luca. Scheduled to open in the autumn of 2009, Hotel Luca will be the sister hotel to L'Auberge Carmel, a Relais & Chateaux property. Chef Balestreri will prepare a sumptuous meal of simple and rustic food made with season ingredients; from antipasti and salamis to handmade pasta and roasted meats. Master sommelier Chris Blanchard will select some gems from the Chappellet cellar to accompany the meal. At dinner, Audi and Chappellet will present a checked flag and Napa's version of the Borg Warner Trophy - a 3 liter of 2005 Chappellet Pritchard Hill Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, custom etched to commemorate the event - to the driver with the fastest time. We won't douse you with champagne, and chugging milk is optional.
